Stanmore Course

 
 

Stanmore Course, UK. The Stanmore Course is the 5 week programme UK Technicians need to undertake in order to be qualified. This is the main national programme:

  • the course conducted three times per year, 16 delegates per course; next, this year begins in September;
  • the course is open to and indeed welcomes international delegates. Two years experience in a clinical environment is a pre-requisite;
  • programme is a balance of theory and practical casting techniques, approximately a 50/50 balance;
  • there is ongoing assessment and a final exam that consists of anatomy oral (15 mins) and a practical casting (30 mins);
  • UK National Casting Training Advisor - Sue Miles - for the British Orthopaedic Committee, leads the programme;
  • approximate cost is £1050 course fee, £250 accommodation expenses.Delegates are responsible for food etc.;
  • programme conducted in north London, at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.
