SOFFBAN DE-FLEX STRIP is a single-use, cut resistant strip designed to aid in cast removal. When incorporated in the construction of a cast it adds protection against cuts and burns from the cast saw blade and enables healthcare professionals to remove any cast with confidence. Decreases patient anxiety during cast removal. Can be used wth any type or size of cast without adding bulk.

Precautions

• The SOFFBAN DE-FLEX STRIP should not be in direct contact with skin.
• The cut resistance of the SOFFBAN DE-FLEX STRIP is dramatically compromised when applied over a hard, bony surface. Therefore, avoid placing DE-FLEX STRIP directly over any bony prominences.


1. Apply the cast liner or underpadding and cut the DE-FLEX STRIP into the required lengths.		2. Apply the DE-FLEX STRIP lengths directly to the padding over the area in which cutting is anticipated. Extend the strip 2-3cm beyond the cast margin and incorporate into the cast cuff.		3. Apply the synthetic or plaster material ensuring the ends of the DE-FLEX STRIPS are clearly visible.		4. Locate the DE-FLEX STRIP at the margins of the cast. Cut through the cast following the path of the underlying strip.
